This is just a quick response because we are putting on our big School Production on Monday! Everything went really, really well. We had Channel 7 arrive and approx. 10 seconds of air time on the news that night. They linked it to the national event in Sydney and Canberra with us mentioned at the end, so it was longer, overall. I was at rehearsals and didn't see it, so someone has taped it for me and I'll send you a copy of that as well.  In my memory it is the first time that a T.V. channel has put something on their news that night in Adelaide. Last year I can only remember us being on BTN. Hope you were thrilled with the way everything went. Our children loved it all again. Let's hope there is funding next year, because it just keeps growing. Will be in touch sometime next week with the pics etc.

Congrats -  the Music Count Us In was fantastic!! At my school we ran the live webstream and did the count down with Peter Garrett and John Foreman with our whole school watching and the school band and choir poised and practised to take their cue from the count off! It was EXCELLENT fun - and I am sure we were heard in the next suburb! Many thanks for the marvellous initiative - I know that the message has got through to all our students and hopefully their families! Can’t wait for next year - I think we will be even more adventurous!  Many thanks.

Dear Count Us In...2,3,4.  We had over 500 students singing doing actions with accompaniment from 6 Drummers, 12 egg shakers, elect guitar, clarinet and keyboard all crammed into the undercover area. The students have asked for next year if the sing time in the Eastern States could match when school is in session here. School is in session by 9. So we sang at !0:15am Perth time. Look forward to next year.

Lake Boga Primary/Swan Hill North Primary School, VIC

Just to let you know we had a joint "sing" with the choir from Swan Hill North Primary and the Grade 3-5 students from Lake Boga (Their Grade 6's are on school camp to New Zealand).  This amounts to approximately 45 students on the day.  We had a great time, sounded fabulous and the staff and parents could see the students enjoy singing.  I have enjoyed yet again my involvement in this great event.

Our little school, Murrayville Community College (yes, we did register) sang the song yesterday. We had 68 students and 6 staff singing, from our Prep through to the year 8 students. We all had a great time and the kids went away singing the song. Well done on a great incentive.

Monogorilby State SchoolAttached please find photo of the entire complement of students at Monogorilby State School dressed for the occasion on Thursday. As you may already know, ... had some problems with the internet that day, but we were fortunate that a parent with a portable satellite connection was able to come in and allow us to watch the live streaming from the Opera House. Our students sang with much enthusiasm, and enjoyed being part of this wonderful event.

Flinders Park Primary School perform 'The Music is Everthing'

Flinders Public School is near Shellharbour in Wollongong NSW. This is our second year involved with "Count Me In" and we love it!!! Our school has 560 students from K-6, and all of them love to sing the song tapping and playing along. Their so excited (and so am I) when we sing it they ask to sing it again! We have been rehearsing for a month before our holidays and then this week as a refresher. All our students created their own actions to the lyrics and then we blended them to create a school version of the actions, then performed it on the day. We all sang outside with speakers on full ....Our students were all very passionate about participating.... even our Year 2's who had swimming school sang on the bus without music, but with lots of gusto and passion! We were lucky to have two of our local papers support us ... Both the Mercury and the Lake Times came and spoke to the kids and took photos. Thanks for a brilliant song, an amazing day and a fantastic concept - keep it coming .... Hopefully next year we'll get business and community members involved too. It’s great fun and good for your health. I'll definitely be involved next year and so will Flinders!!!!

West Ulverstone Primary School, TAS

West Ulverstone Primary SchoolWest Ulverstone Primary School has an enrolment of about 235 children. Today we sang “The Music Is Everything” in our courtyard. We’ve been practicing for a number of weeks and All children from Kinder to grade 6 have learned the song. Even teachers and a few parents joined in. We put actions in …Hand raises in the Hey hey part of the song. As the music teacher I had worked with each class individually…but how awesome it was to stand out the front. Directing the whole school …the singing was fabulous.  Thank you for this opportunity to learn a fabulous song and sing together. Next year we are going to give a challenge to the other schools in our community to come and learn the song and sing it all together in the Town Anzac park as there are ready made risers in the form of steps. Can’t wait for 2010. Thanks again!

Thank you to John and all of the wonderfully, talented students, who composed this fantastic song, for all of us to enjoy. Our classes are looking forward to singing the song with you tomorrow. The children really love it. It is really quite exciting for everyone. Thank you for all of the resources. You make it so easy for us, as teachers, to share the joy of music with our school community. I only saw the add on television in the October holidays, so we have just started learning it with our Junior classes. The children pick it up very quickly and love it. I passed on the information to the rest of the staff and they are keen to start learning it as well. As well as singing the song tomorrow, we are hoping to sing it as a whole school at our end of school assembly, so the parents, relatives and friends can enjoy it as well.
