I thought I'd let you know how we're doing at Boisdale. Our children LOVE the song, they agree that 'Music is Everything'; we've talked about how Music is Maths, Music is English, Music is History, Music is Cultural... They also think that 'It's Not Fair' that 4 out of 5 kids don't have Music at school (Seares Report, 2005). Two of the classes are making a sign in Art to put across the stage while we sing on October 22nd. The sign will read 'It's Not Fair; Music is Everything'; I'll send you a photo when the artwork is done! Thanks for a great song, we love it Annette Castles, Classroom Music Specialist, Boisdale Consolidated School, Boisdale, VIC
We will be running the event in our riverside park again this year and should have 7 schools in attendance. We intend on doing all 4 songs so far associated with the campaign (Play for Life, Life Is a Song, Sing and The Music is Everything) as well as at least one item from each of the schools. Our backing band will be led by our FOSSICKERS again. Looking forward to it all. Peter Schuhmacher, Macintyre High School, Inverell, NSW
The students are thoroughly enjoying the new song "The Music is Everything†here at Padstow Park Public School and it is only the second day that we have had the music. The Violin Ensemble started the day yesterday by beginning to learn their parts. By the end of today there will have been six classes that have experienced and performed the song in Music Class. Class 6B are going to perform their version of the song on Friday in the school's weekly assembly, complete with vocal soloists, group singing, recorders and glockenspiels. This performance was just organised and rehearsed in their 60 minute Music Class today. The enthusiasm is amazing! The students love the song! We will be inviting Sir Joseph Banks H.S. to join with us again this year for the performance on 22nd October.Class 6B at Padstow Park P.S. enthusiastically performed the song The Music is Everything at Friday Assembly as it was their turn to host the weekly assembly. There were 3 lead vocalists, class ensemble singing as well as recorder and glockenspiels players. I wonder if we might be the first school to perform the song so far? There was much audience participation especially in the chorus and the bridge. Kay Taylor, Music Teacher, Padstow Park Primary School, NSW
I have already registered Kalkie State School in Bundaberg and downloaded the music. We have an enrolment of 385 students. Once again students and staff will join together (October 22nd) with a special parade. Parents will be invited to attend and our Concert Band Teacher Tony Brown will visit with his Kepnock High School Concert Band and also our String Teacher Angela Uebel will join in this year with the Kepnock State High School String ensemble. Also our advanced Kalkie musical students will join them to provide the backing music. Each year we look forward to this day. Students will be introduced to the song and actions developed through my weekly classroom music lessons.  Looking forward to this special day of Music for all to enjoy.
